About the release date: iGaming Business already mentioned Fishing War in August 2021, so 2022 is probably just SlotsJudge's listing date. The bet range comes from just one database and is in Canadian dollars, so it may differ on the site you play on.
How it plays
According to SlotsJudge, you first pick a room. Each room has its own bet range: Junior is the lowest, Godlike the highest. Then you set your stake and shoot the fish. The most valuable regular fish, according to SlotsJudge, is the green toad.
The left panel has skills:
- Target or Auto: automatically locks onto one fish.
- Double: two cannons instead of one.
- Lightning: another skill option on the panel.
There are 9 kinds of special fish. They include the Firestorm, which gives 30 to 100 bullets, the Azure Stone, which raises the fish multipliers, and the Dragon Wheel with multiplier wins. The paytable and rules are in the game: click the cogwheel then the "?".
Important to remember: Double means two cannons. If each cannon uses its own bullet, your balance drains faster. Read the rules inside the game before using it.
Budget fit and boss math
Fishing games fire fast, so think of your budget as a number of shots, not pesos.
| Budget | Bullet value (example) | Shots before any wins |
|---|---|---|
| ₱300 | ₱0.50 | 600 |
| ₱300 | ₱1.00 | 300 |
| ₱300 | ₱5.00 | 60 |
A simple rule from our fishing game tips: about 0.5% of your budget or less per bullet. On ₱300, that's ₱1.50 or less.
Why do big special fish drain budgets? Because the multiplier is big, and a big multiplier means the big payout is rare.
Example (simplified model, not exactly how the game works): say the payout is 888× and the game returns 96.5% in the long run, split evenly. The chance of getting that payout on one shot is about 0.965 ÷ 888 = 0.109%.
| Shots at the target | Cost at ₱1/shot | Chance of NO 888× payout | Chance of at least once |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | ₱100 | ≈ 90% | ≈ 10% |
| 500 | ₱500 | ≈ 58% | ≈ 42% |
| 1,000 | ₱1,000 | ≈ 34% | ≈ 66% |
In this example, it takes about 920 shots on average to land one 888× payout. At ₱1 a shot, that's ₱920. This only illustrates the shape of the risk, it's not a prediction. The lesson: set a boss shot limit before you start.
We used the lower RTP figure (96.5%) in the example so we don't overstate the return. RTP is an average over a huge number of plays, not your session. Read RTP explained and the volatility guide to understand why one night's result can be far from the RTP.
Myths and common mistakes
- "The RTP is higher on one site, so I'll go there." The databases list different figures (97% vs 96.5%). What matters is what's on the game's info screen on a licensed site, and even that is just a long-run average.
- "Turn on Auto and Double for faster catches." Catches are faster and so is the spending. Auto doesn't look at your budget.
- "The Godlike room is looser." The room changes the bet range, not the game's math. The higher the bet, the faster your budget runs out.
- "When you lose, raise the bullet to win it back." This is the fastest way to drain your budget. A bigger bullet also means a bigger loss on every shot that catches nothing.
- "There's a hack or mod APK." That's a scam. There's no legit way to change the game's results.

Where to play legally
Play Fishing War only on a PAGCOR-licensed site. Lots of copies and fake "fishing apps" circulate on social media, and you have no recourse if you lose money there.
- Check the exact address. Enter the full domain in our PAGCOR license checker. A lookalike domain isn't the same as the licensed site.
- Only deposit through the cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash or Maya number. Read our GCash casino guide.
- Avoid mod APKs and "hacks." They're scams, and often come with malware.
