Big Bass Bonanza Review PH: RTP, Volatility, Features

Three fishing slots with the same core: fish money symbols, a fisherman wild who collects, and free spins with growing multipliers. Here's how they differ.

Quick answer Big Bass Bonanza (2020), Bigger Bass Bonanza (2021) and Big Bass Splash (2022) are Pragmatic Play line slots with a 96.71% default RTP. In free spins, the fisherman wild collects the value of the fish symbols. Max win: 2,100×, 4,000× and 5,000×.

This is part of our slot game guides. If you're new to slots, read the slots guide first. For background on the studio, see the slot providers guide.

Specs at a glance

All three have the same default RTP; the grid, volatility and max win are what change.

How you win in the Big Bass series

All three are line slots: 3 to 5 matching symbols from the left on the paylines. Card royals pay small, while the tackle box, rod and other premiums pay more.

The fish symbols show a cash value. In the base game, they're mostly just for display. Their value comes into play in free spins, when a fisherman wild lands on the screen at the same time: he collects all the fish values in view.

According to AskGamblers, the original's 2,100× max win happens about once in 3.8 million spins. It's almost theoretical for the average player.

Free spins, retriggers and bonus buy

  • Trigger: 3, 4 or 5 scatters = 10, 15 or 20 free spins in all three games.
  • Fisherman collect: each fisherman wild collects the fish money values on the screen.
  • Retrigger levels: every 4 wilds collected = +10 spins and a higher multiplier: x2, then x3, then x10. This happens up to 3 times only.
  • Big Bass Splash extra: when only 2 scatters land, a random feature can add a scatter or nudge the reel to complete the trigger.
  • Bigger Bass Bonanza extra: there's a rare fish scatter worth up to 4,000×.
  • Bonus buy: 100× in Big Bass Splash, if available. It isn't available in every market.

RTP and volatility: what they mean for your budget

At 96.71%, the long-run house edge is about 3.3%. On ₱1,000 in total bets, the expected cost is about ₱33; on the 94.5% version, about ₱55. Read the RTP explainer for the full explanation.

The original and Splash, at 4/5, sit on the high side; Bigger Bass Bonanza is 5/5. The bigger the ceiling, the deeper the possible dry spells.

Just an example: you have ₱300 and ₱1 a spin, so about 300 spins. At ₱3 a spin, only 100 spins. Even if you trigger free spins, the return can be small if few fishermen land. The volatility guide will help you choose your bet.

Myths and common mistakes

  • "Lots of fish in the base game means the bonus is close." The number of fish has nothing to do with the next trigger.
  • "It's sure to reach x10 once triggered." You need 12 collected wilds for that. It's rare.
  • "All three are the same, so they swing the same." Their volatility and max win are different.
  • "The 2-scatter tease in Splash is a sign." It's a random feature that's already built into the game's math.

Only play Big Bass Bonanza on a PAGCOR-licensed site. Many copies or "modded" versions circulate online, and you have no protection there if a withdrawal goes wrong.

  • Type the exact site address into our PAGCOR license checker before you sign up. A logo or screenshot of a "license" isn't enough.
  • Deposit only through the site's own cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash number. Read the safe GCash and Maya deposit guide for slots.
  • Check the RTP on the game's info screen on that site, because the version set up there may be different.
