How you win in Gates of Olympus
There are no paylines here: you need 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6×5 grid. This is called scatter pays.
After a win, the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop from above. This is called a tumble, and wins can keep chaining in one spin until no new combination forms.
The twist: multiplier orbs can appear on any spin, not just in free spins. After the tumble sequence ends, all multipliers on screen are added together and applied to that spin's total win. There's no wild symbol in this game.
Free spins, ante bet and bonus buy
Most big wins come from the free spins. Here's how they work in both versions:
- Trigger: 4, 5 or 6 Zeus scatters = 15 free spins. In the 1000 version, they also pay 3×, 5× or 100× depending on the number of scatters.
- Retrigger: 3 or more scatters during free spins = +5 spins.
- Total multiplier: in free spins, multiplier values accumulate and don't reset, so it grows as the round goes on.
- Ante bet: an extra 25% on your bet in exchange for double the chance of triggering free spins.
- Bonus buy: 100× your bet to go straight to free spins. It isn't available in every market; in the UK, for example, it's disabled.
According to AskGamblers, free spins trigger on average about 1 in 448 spins in the original, and the odds of the max win are 1 in 697,350. Those are just averages over a huge number of spins.
RTP and volatility: what they mean for your budget
The 96.50% RTP is a long-run average, not a promise for your session. On ₱1,000 total wagered, the expected cost is about ₱35 on the default version, but about ₱55 on the 94.50% version. So check which RTP is set up. Read the RTP explainer for the full math.
It's high volatility, so dry spells are long. Most spins return little or nothing, and much of the RTP comes from rare free spins with a big total multiplier.
Just an example: you have a ₱500 budget. At ₱20 per spin, that's only 25 spins, far short of the average 1 in 448 for free spins. At ₱2 per spin, it's 250 spins, a longer session, but the bonus may still not show up. Our volatility guide will help you match bet size to budget.
Myths and common mistakes
- "The free spins are close because it's been a while." No. Every spin is independent; nothing is "due" with an RNG.
- "The bonus buy is always worth it." The 100× price can return less. Budgets drain fast here.
- "The 1000 version is looser." The max win is higher, but the RTP is nearly the same. It doesn't mean you'll win more often.
Where to play legally
Only play Gates of Olympus on a PAGCOR-licensed site. Lots of copies or "modded" versions circulate online, and you have no protection there if a withdrawal goes wrong.
- Type the exact site address into our PAGCOR license checker before you sign up. A logo or screenshot of a "license" isn't enough.
- Deposit only through the site's own cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash number. Read the safe GCash and Maya deposit guide for slots.
- Check the RTP on the game's info screen on that site, because the version set up there may be different.
