How you win in The Dog House
In the original, it's line wins: 3 to 5 matching symbols from the left on one of 20 paylines. The dog house wild only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, and carries an x2 or x3 multiplier. When two wilds are in the same win, the multipliers are added (for example, x2 + x3 = x5), not multiplied.
In the Megaways, each reel's height changes every spin, so the number of ways changes too. The wild can carry a random x2 or x3, and these are added together too. According to Bigwinboard, there's some kind of win in about 1 in 4.3 spins in the Megaways. Neither version has a tumble.
Free spins and bonus buy
Most of the big potential comes from free spins, because that's where the wilds stick.
- Original trigger: paw scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 at the same time. A spin mechanism decides between 9 and 27 free spins.
- Sticky wilds: every wild that lands in free spins stays until the round ends, along with its multiplier.
- Megaways options: you choose between Sticky Wilds (7–20 spins) or Raining Wilds (15–30 spins, up to 6 random wilds with x1–x3 per spin).
- Retrigger: no retrigger in the original or the Megaways, according to reviews.
- Bonus buy: 100× in the Megaways, where available. Not available in every market.
RTP and volatility: what they mean for your budget
The two have nearly the same RTP, but the Megaways swings more widely. On ₱1,000 in total bets, the expected cost is about ₱35 at 96.5%, and higher on lower versions. Read the RTP guide for the explanation.
Free spins without sticky wilds in good positions can pay little. That's normal for high volatility.
Just an example: if your budget is ₱500, ₱5 spins give you only 100 spins. At ₱1 per spin, 500 spins. Smaller bets make the game last longer, but they don't raise the RTP. See the volatility guide.
Myths and common mistakes
- "More ways means more frequent wins." Ways are a way of calculating wins, not a guarantee of frequency.
- "Always pick Raining Wilds." No option is a sure thing. The two just swing differently.
- "Two wild multipliers are multiplied together." They're added, according to reviews.
- "I just need one more bonus to win it back." This is how chasing losses starts.
Where to play legally
Only play The Dog House on a site with a PAGCOR license. Lots of copies or "modded" versions circulate online, and you have no protection there if a withdrawal goes wrong.
- Type the exact site address into our PAGCOR license checker before you sign up. A logo or screenshot of a "license" isn't enough.
- Deposit only through the site's own cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash number. Read the safe GCash and Maya deposit guide for slots.
- Check the RTP on the game's info screen on that site, because the version set up there may be different.
