Ocean King Fish Game Review PH: IGS Arcade, Features and Tips

The original Ocean King is an arcade cabinet, not an online game. Here's what's verified, what isn't, and how to be careful with its online namesakes.

Quick answer Ocean King is a land-based arcade fish-hunting cabinet by IGS (International Games System), a Taiwan company. It was released in Australia, Europe and the USA in November 2013 through the distributor Highway Games. Up to 6 players on the standard cabinet and 8 on the deluxe. It has the Bomb Crab, Twister and Chain Thunder. There's no verified RTP or max win, and the distributor even changed the win percentages per market.

How it plays

Ocean King is a large table cabinet. According to Highway Games, you insert a coin, aim the net gun with the joystick, and press SHOOT. A WEAPON button switches the gun and net size.

  • 16 fish types, including four new ones in 2013 such as the Humpback Whale.
  • 17 gun types and three main guns you can switch at any time, including the Cumulative Super Gun.
  • Bomb Crab: explodes when caught, with extra points if it hits other fish.
  • Chain Thunder: can catch up to nine types of fish at once.
  • Twister: catches matching fish nearby.

There are sequels too. Arcooda lists Ocean King 2 (Thunder Dragon, Ocean Monster) and Ocean King 3 (Dragon Power, Turtles Revenge, Monster Awaken) as IGS games.

Watch the name. Many online fishing games from other providers use "Ocean King" in their name or for their boss fish. That doesn't mean it's an IGS game. Check the provider name in the game lobby before trusting any specs.

Budget fit and boss math

Fishing games fire fast, so think of your budget as a number of shots, not pesos.

BudgetBullet value (example)Shots before any wins
₱300₱0.50600
₱300₱1.00300
₱300₱5.0060

A simple rule from our fishing game tips: about 0.5% of your budget or less per bullet. On ₱300, that's ₱1.50 or less.

Why do big targets like whales drain your money? Because the multiplier is large, and a large multiplier means big payouts are rare.

Example (simplified model, not exactly how the game works): say the payout is 100× and the game returns 95% in the long run, split evenly. The chance of getting that payout on one shot is about 0.95 ÷ 100 = 0.950%.

Shots at the targetCost at ₱2/shotChance of NO 100× payoutChance of at least once
50₱100≈ 62%≈ 38%
100₱200≈ 38%≈ 62%
200₱400≈ 15%≈ 85%

In this example, it takes about 105 shots on average to land one 100× payout. At ₱2 a shot, that's ₱211. This only illustrates the shape of the risk; it's not a prediction. The lesson: set a boss shot limit before you start.

Ocean King has no verified RTP, so the 95% in this example is made up. RTP is an average over a huge number of games, not your session. Read RTP explained and the volatility guide to understand why one night's results can be far from the RTP.

Myths and common mistakes

  • "Ocean King is the same in the arcade and the online casino." The verified Ocean King is an IGS arcade cabinet. Online games with the same name may be made by other providers with different math.
  • "Ocean King has a fixed payout percentage." The distributor itself says it changed the win percentages for local markets. There's no single RTP you can rely on.
  • "When there are lots of players at the table, it's easier to win." The number of players doesn't make your next shot any luckier.
  • "When you lose, raise the bullet to win it back." This is the fastest way to drain your budget. A bigger bullet also means a bigger loss on every shot that catches nothing.
  • "There's a hack or mod APK." That's a scam. There's no legit way to change the game's results.

Before you play, revisit our fishing games guide for the basics, or see the full fishing game list.

If you found an online version, check the provider name first. Only play any online "Ocean King" game on a PAGCOR-licensed site. Lots of copies and fake "fishing apps" circulate on social media, and you have no recourse if you lose money there.

  • Check the exact address. Enter the full domain in our PAGCOR license checker. A lookalike domain isn't the same as the licensed site.
  • Only deposit through the cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash or Maya number. Read our GCash casino guide.
  • Avoid mod APKs and "hacks." They're scams, and often come with malware.
