Superlotto 6/49 Guide PH: Odds, Price and Draw Schedule

How to play Superlotto 6/49, how much a bet costs, when it draws, and how hard each tier is to hit. Math, not guesswork.

Quick answer In Superlotto 6/49, you pick 6 numbers from 1 to 49. Each bet costs ₱25 from Feb. 1, 2026. Draws are every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The jackpot odds are 1 in 13,983,816, and the minimum jackpot is ₱25 million. The odds are the same whether you use lucky pick or your own numbers. It's a game for fun, not an investment.

Superlotto 6/49 sits in the middle: easier than 6/55 and 6/58, harder than 6/45 and 6/42. News reports also call it Super Lotto 6/49. Superlotto 6/49 is a PCSO game, not PAGCOR. If you're new to lotto, read our PCSO lotto guide first.

How to play

  1. Go to an authorized PCSO lotto outlet. This is the legal way. Check the official PCSO website for any other official channels.
  2. Pick 6 numbers from 1 to 49. You can choose them yourself, or use lucky pick (the system chooses).
  3. Pay and take your ticket. Check the numbers and date right away.
  4. Keep the ticket safe. You need the ticket itself to claim.

To win the jackpot, all six numbers must match. The order doesn't matter. You must be 18 or older to bet, according to PCSO. SugarFun itself is for ages 21 and over only.

Prize tiers and odds

The odds are exact math. Some prizes aren't verified yet.

Numbers matchedPrizeOdds per bet
6 (jackpot)Minimum ₱25 million; grows when nobody wins1 in 13,983,816
5Exact amount not yet verified (see below)1 in 54,201
4Exact amount not yet verified (see below)1 in 1,032
3Not yet verified1 in 56.7

Why "not yet verified"? According to a PCSO statement reported by GMA News, the Superlotto 6/49 consolation prize is "up to" ₱1.3M for 5 numbers and ₱1.2M for 4 numbers. But Philstar says "minimum of P1 million" for 4 numbers. The two contradict each other. For 3 numbers, a third-party site reports ₱50, but we haven't confirmed this with PCSO yet.

The odds of winning any prize (3 to 6 matches) are about 1 in 53.7 per bet.

How the odds are calculated

We use combinations here because order doesn't matter. C(n, k) means "how many ways to choose k from n."

  • All possible tickets: C(49,6) = (49 × 48 × 47 × 46 × 45 × 44) ÷ 720 = 10,068,347,520 ÷ 720 = 13,983,816.
  • 6 matches: just 1 combination. Odds: 1 in 13,983,816.
  • 5 matches: C(6,5) × C(43,1) = 6 × 43 = 258 ways. 13,983,816 ÷ 258 = 1 in 54,201.
  • 4 matches: C(6,4) × C(43,2) = 15 × 903 = 13,545 ways. 13,983,816 ÷ 13,545 = 1 in 1,032.
  • 3 matches: C(6,3) × C(43,3) = 20 × 12,341 = 246,820 ways. 13,983,816 ÷ 246,820 = 1 in 56.7.

A real-life example: if you buy one ticket every draw, 3 times a week, for 50 years, that's about 7,800 tickets. Your chance of hitting the jackpot even once is only about 0.06%. 6/49 is one of the most common lotto formats in the world, so many math teachers know the number 13,983,816. There are almost 14 million possible combinations, and only one of them is the jackpot. To compare all the games, see our lotto odds guide or the Megalotto 6/45 guide.

Lucky pick vs your own numbers

The odds are the same. A lucky pick is a random combination; your own numbers are also just one combination. Each is 1 in 13,983,816.

One small difference: many people pick birthdays (1 to 31). If a combination like that wins, you're more likely to share the prize. The odds of winning don't change. Neither one is "luckier."

Myths to forget

  • "Hot numbers" and "cold numbers." Each draw is independent. The balls have no memory. A number that came out yesterday has the same chance today.
  • "Nobody has won in a long time, so it's close." No. The jackpot grows, but the odds per draw stay the same: 1 in 13,983,816.
  • "There's a system or pattern to win." No pattern raises the odds of a single ticket.
  • "More tickets means a sure win." Each extra ticket adds only 1 in 13,983,816. Ten tickets cost ₱250 for a 10 in 13,983,816 chance.
Remember: Lotto is entertainment, not an investment. Set a weekly budget. Avoid unofficial online "lotto" sites, agents or apps. See our online lotto guide.

How to claim

According to the LottoMatik FAQ (a PCSO sales channel), prizes of ₱10,000 and below can be paid by an authorized agent, and higher ones at a PCSO branch. The jackpot is claimed in person at the PCSO main office, according to Philstar. Also reported: 2 valid IDs, a signature on the back of the ticket, and 1 year from the draw date to claim.
