How you win in Sweet Bonanza
The system is scatter pays: 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid is a win. More matches pay more; the red heart candy is the top symbol, paying up to 40× the bet for 12+ symbols in the original.
There's a tumble after every win. Winning symbols disappear, new ones drop in, and you can get several wins in a row on a single spin. In Sweet Bonanza 1000, according to Bigwinboard, there's some kind of win in about 1 in 2.33 spins, but many of those are small.
Free spins, bombs and bonus buy
Most of the game's potential is in the free spins. Here's the flow:
- Trigger: 4, 5 or 6 lollipop scatters = 10 free spins. In the 1000, they also pay 3×, 5× or 100×.
- Retrigger: 3 or more scatters during free spins = +5 spins.
- Multiplier bombs: only appear in free spins. After the tumble sequence ends, their values are added up and applied to the win.
- Ante bet: +25% on your bet, double the chance of free spins. In the original, the bonus buy is disabled while it's on.
- Bonus buy: 100× the bet. The 1000 also has "super free spins" at 500× with a minimum x20 multiplier. Not available in every market.
RTP and volatility: what they mean for your budget
The house edge is about 3.5% at the default RTP, but higher on lower versions. On ₱1,000 in total bets, the expected cost is about ₱35 at 96.5% and about ₱45 at 95.5%. The explanation is in our RTP guide.
The 1000 version has higher volatility. The base game often gives small returns, and big wins depend on the bombs in free spins.
Just an example: a ₱300 budget at ₱3 per spin is 100 spins. That can end without any free spins, and that's normal for a game like this. If you want a longer session, a smaller bet suits better. See the volatility guide to match it to your budget.
Myths and common mistakes
- "Tumbles are frequent, so I'm winning." Frequent wins can be smaller than your bet. Watch your balance, not the animation.
- "Always keep the ante bet on to be safer." Each spin costs more. The bonus chance doubles, but it's not a guarantee.
- "Sweet Bonanza's RTP is the same everywhere." There are several versions. It varies by site.
- "The big bomb will come if you just keep going." Every spin is random. No session is "due" a big multiplier.
Where to play legally
Only play Sweet Bonanza on a site with a PAGCOR license. Lots of copies or "modded" versions circulate online, and you have no protection there if a withdrawal goes wrong.
- Type the exact site address into our PAGCOR license checker before you sign up. A logo or screenshot of a "license" isn't enough.
- Deposit only through the site's own cashier. Don't send money to an "agent's" personal GCash number. Read the safe GCash and Maya deposit guide for slots.
- Check the RTP on the game's info screen on that site, because the version set up there may be different.
