How SugarFun Tests Online Casinos: Our Real-Money Method

Hindi kami magre-review base sa promo page lang. When we review a site, we'll deposit real money, withdraw it, time it, and screenshot every step. Here's exactly how.

Status: We haven't published any real-money test results yet. This page explains the method we'll use for every review. Until then, our pages are based on PAGCOR's official list, which we check for every brand.
Quick answer Every SugarFun review starts with a PAGCOR license check, then a real-money GCash or Maya deposit, a timed withdrawal back to the wallet, a KYC run-through and a support test. We screenshot every step and retest each listed site every quarter. Unlicensed sites are never listed.

Lahat ng casino site ay mukhang legit sa homepage. Bright banners, big bonus, "fast payout" sa bawat sulok. The only way to know if a site actually pays is to put money in and try to take it out. So that's what we do, and we write down what happens.

All testing is done by Kassandra Marcos, our lead reviewer, using her own accounts and her own money. Ganito ang proseso.

Step 1: PAGCOR license check

Before we deposit a single peso, we confirm that the site is licensed by PAGCOR to serve players in the Philippines. We check two things, not one:

  • The company. The operator name on the site must match the licensee on PAGCOR's official list.
  • The domain. The exact website we're testing must be the one tied to that license. Copycat domains often borrow a real operator's name and logo.

If either one doesn't match, the test stops there. Walang deposit, walang review, walang listing. You can do the same check yourself with our Legit Ba? checker.

Step 2: Real-money deposit with GCash or Maya

We sign up like any regular player and deposit using GCash or Maya, the way most Filipino players actually pay. We note:

  • The minimum deposit and whether it matches what the site advertises
  • Whether the deposit goes through the site's own cashier (good) or asks you to send money to a personal GCash number of an "agent" (big red flag)
  • How long it takes for the balance to show up in the casino account
  • Any fee charged on the deposit

Read our GCash casino guide and Maya casino guide for the player-side steps.

Step 3: Timed withdrawal

Ito ang pinaka-importanteng test. Deposits are always easy; withdrawals are where bad sites show their true colors.

  • Minimum cash-out check. We confirm the real minimum withdrawal amount and whether it's reasonable compared to the minimum deposit.
  • The clock. We record the time we press "withdraw" and the time the money actually lands in our GCash or Maya wallet. That's the payout time we publish, not the "processing time" the site claims.
  • Surprises. We note any extra conditions that appear only at cash-out time, like sudden wagering requirements or "verification fees."

Step 4: KYC, fees at support

KYC experience

Licensed sites must verify that you're 21+ and that you are who you say you are. We go through the full KYC process and note what documents are asked for, how easy the upload is, and how long approval takes.

Fees

We list every fee we encounter on deposits, withdrawals or inactive accounts. Kung may hidden fee, makikita mo sa review.

Customer support

We contact support with a real question and record:

  • The channel used (live chat, email, Messenger, phone)
  • Minutes until the first real human reply
  • Whether the answer was actually correct

Screenshots at "last tested" dates

We take screenshots of every step: the license listing, the cashier page, the deposit confirmation, the withdrawal request and the money arriving in the wallet. Sensitive personal details are blurred before anything is published.

Casinos change. Payment partners switch, support teams shrink, terms get rewritten. So every listed site is retested every quarter, and each review shows a "last tested" date so you know how fresh the results are.

How we score

Every review covers the same criteria, so you can compare sites fairly. This is our own framework, not an industry standard.

CriteriaWhat we check
LicensePAGCOR license active; company and domain both match
PayoutsTimed withdrawal from request to money in wallet; minimum cash-out
DepositsGCash and Maya through the site's own cashier; minimum deposit; speed
FeesEvery deposit, withdrawal or account fee we found
KYCDocuments required, ease of upload, approval time
SupportChannel, minutes to first reply, correctness of answer
Responsible gamingDeposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion available
TermsBonus and withdrawal rules written clearly, no cash-out surprises
Note: License and payouts come first. A site with a beautiful app but a failed withdrawal will never score well on SugarFun.

What gets a site removed

  • A failed payout. If a withdrawal doesn't arrive and support can't fix it, the site is removed.
  • A license lapse. If the PAGCOR license is suspended, revoked or no longer matches the domain, the site is removed.
  • Unlicensed sites are never listed, no matter how popular they are or how much they offer to pay us.
Reminder: Even a legit, fast-paying site is still gambling. Testing tells you whether a site is safe to use, hindi kung mananalo ka.

Editorial independence

SugarFun may earn commissions when you sign up with some licensed operators through our links. Commissions never change ratings. An operator can't pay for a higher score, a better position, or a review at all. Full details sa aming affiliate disclosure.
