Color game guide

Color Game Odds: Gaano Kalaki ang House Edge?

Our color game guide shows the basic 7.87% house edge. Dito, mas malalim: what happens when you cover two or three colours, how much a 100-round session really costs, at bakit iba-iba ang resulta ng bawat gabi.

Quick answer With 3 fair dice and 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 payouts, a single-colour bet loses ₱7.87 per ₱100 on average. Betting on 2 or 3 colours does not lower that rate. Same 7.87% on every peso, pero mas malaki ang total na nakataya, kaya mas malaki rin ang expected loss per round. Over 100 rounds at ₱20, expect to lose about ₱157, with big swings either way.

Ang setup: 216 na posibleng resulta

Everything here comes from one fact: three fair dice with six colours each give 6 × 6 × 6 = 216 equally likely results. Assumption namin dito ang standard payouts mula sa color game guide: 1:1 for one match, 2:1 for two, 3:1 for three.

A ₱100 single-colour bet is worth −₱7.87 on average. Here's the full working, outcome by outcome:

MatchesWays (of 216)ProbabilityNet sa ₱100 betWays × net
05 × 5 × 5 = 12557.87%−₱100−₱12,500
13 × 1 × 5 × 5 = 7534.72%+₱100+₱7,500
23 × 1 × 1 × 5 = 156.94%+₱200+₱3,000
310.46%+₱300+₱300
Total216100%−₱1,700

Expected value = −₱1,700 ÷ 216 = −₱7.87 per ₱100 bet. As a fraction, the edge is exactly 17/216.

Bakit 42% lang ang tsansang tumama

Your colour shows up at least once in 216 − 125 = 91 results, or 42.13% of rolls. Hindi "tatlong chance" ang tatlong dice. Each die adds a chance, pero nag-o-overlap sila, kaya hindi 3 × 16.67% = 50% ang total. Below 50% ang hit rate, and most hits pay just 1:1.

Pagtaya sa 2 o 3 kulay nang sabay

Covering more colours makes you hit more often, pero hindi nito binabawasan ang house edge. Each colour is its own bet with the same −17/216 value, kaya nagdadagdag lang sila.

Dalawang kulay, tig-₱100 (₱200 total)

Total216100%−₱3,400

−₱3,400 ÷ 216 = −₱15.74 per round, on ₱200 staked. Divide by the stake: ₱15.74 ÷ ₱200 = 7.87%. Same edge. Notice the 44% break-even rows: madalas "tumama" ka pero wala ka namang napanalunan, kasi binayaran lang ng isang kulay ang talo ng isa.

Tatlong kulay, tig-₱100 (₱300 total)

−₱5,100 ÷ 216 = −₱23.61 per round, on ₱300 staked. Again 7.87%.

Summary: mas maraming kulay, mas malaking expected loss

Kulay na tinayaan (₱100 each)Total stakeAt least one hitExpected loss per roundEdge per peso
1₱10042.13%₱7.877.87%
2₱20070.37%₱15.747.87%
3₱30087.50%₱23.617.87%
6 (lahat)₱600100%₱47.227.87%

The all-six row shows it clearly. If you bet ₱100 on every colour, you can never come out ahead. Three different colours (120 of 216 results) leave you at ₱0. A pair (90 results) costs ₱100. Three of a kind (6 results) costs ₱200. Average: −₱10,200 ÷ 216 = −₱47.22. "Covering the board" just buys a guaranteed slow loss.

Worked example: 100 rounds sa ₱20

A 100-round session at ₱20 per round costs about ₱157 on average. Here's the working:

  1. Total wagered: 100 × ₱20 = ₱2,000. Kahit ₱500 lang ang dala mo, umiikot ang pera, so you can easily wager ₱2,000.
  2. Expected loss: ₱2,000 × 17/216 = ₱157.41.
  3. Per round: ₱20 × 7.87% = about ₱1.57, every single round.

At typical online speeds, 100 rounds can go by quickly. That's why a timer matters as much as a budget. Our color game tips show how to set both.

Variance: bakit iba-iba ang bawat session

The house edge tells you the average. Variance tells you how far one night can stray from it. For a ₱1 single-colour bet, the standard deviation is about ₱1.11 per round (variance = 269/216 − (17/216)² ≈ 1.239). That's large compared with the ₱0.079 average loss, kaya malaki ang swings sa maikling session.

Ganito ang itsura sa ₱20 per round. The "chance to be ahead" column comes from computing the exact distribution of all outcomes, not from a simulation:

RoundsTotal wageredExpected lossTypical swing (1 SD)Chance na ahead ka sa dulo
10₱200₱15.74± ₱70.4034.7%
100₱2,000₱157.41± ₱222.6422.5%
1,000₱20,000₱1,574.07± ₱704.041.3%

Read it this way. The expected loss grows with every round (×10 rounds = ×10 loss). The swing grows more slowly (×10 rounds = only about ×3.16 swing). Kaya sa 10 rounds, swerte ang mas malakas. Sa 1,000 rounds, halos laging nananalo ang math.

After 100 rounds at ₱20, about 74.7% of sessions end behind, 2.7% end exactly even, and 22.5% end ahead. About 44.5% lose ₱200 or more, and 14.8% lose ₱400 or more. Normal yan. It's the same game producing different nights.

Tandaan: A winning night doesn't mean you beat the odds. It means variance went your way this time. The same 7.87% is still on every peso you bet next time.

Treat the expected loss as the price of the entertainment, and plan around it. A few practical takeaways:

  • Budget per round, not per night. At ₱20 a round, think "₱1.57 per round ang cost," then decide how many rounds you actually want.
  • Fewer colours, smaller stake. Multi-colour betting feels safer because you hit more often. It actually raises your cost per round.
  • Practice for free. Our free color game demo lets you watch variance happen without spending.
  • Compare games honestly. A 7.87% edge is steep next to many slots. See our slots RTP explainer for how RTP and house edge relate.

Our GCash color game safety guide and color game legal guide cover that part. For habits that keep it fun, see Laro Nang Tama.

FAQ
